Would you like to speed up Internet Explorer? Well the first piece of advice I can offer is get a faster connection! If you are on dialup I would recommend getting a DSL or cable modem. This is the only absolutely guaranteed way you can immediately speed up Internet Explorer. If you are already using a DSL, cable, or another high speed connection then you may have to take another route. I will show you a few tricks you can use as well as a program that can speed up Internet Explorer quickly.
1. Clear out the internet explorer cache. This can be done by selecting Tools>>>Internet Options>>>Delete Files. You will want to delete all offline content. Then go to Settings and reduce the size of your cache to around 50 MB.
2. Reduce the amount of toolbars and plugins you are using. When Internet Explorer gets overloaded with add-on’s it runs much slower than before. Unless you absolutely need them, it would be a good idea to cut down on some of these features.
3. Clean the Windows registry. The registry contains a ton of Internet Explorer related files and processes. Often times when the registry becomes congested, these processes slow down or stop working. Clean up the registry and you will speed up IE.
By using these three tips you should be able to speed up Internet Explorer 7 or any other version of IE. Although anyone can do the first two steps, the third step is actually more complicated. In order to clean the Windows registry you will need specialized software.
